Radio Worth Listening To

The Prairie Home Companion
"A Prairie Home Companion is a live radio variety show created and hosted by Garrison Keillor. The show runs two hours on Saturday afternoon from 5 to 7 p.m. Central Time, and usually originates from the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota, although it is frequently taken on the road. A Prairie Home Companion is known for its musical guests, especially folk and traditional musicians, as well as Keillor's storytelling segment, News from Lake Wobegon." - Wikipedia

A Prairie Home Companion is heard by over 4 million listeners each week on over 580 public radio stations, and is heard abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks In Europe and the Far East. Keillor remembers, "When the show started, it was something funny to do with my friends, and then it became an achievement that I hoped would be successful, and now it's a good way of life."

Since 1994, Acoustic Café has been radio's best international showcase for new and classic acoustic music. Each week, we air two hours of exceptional songs from some of the best singer-songwriters in the business, plus live in-studio interviews and performances. Each of the guest sessions are recorded exclusively for Acoustic Café at our studios in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Acoustic Café is based.

Each week, listeners around the globe tune in to Acoustic Café to hear the latest from today’s great songwriting talents. It’s hard to put a definitive label on Acoustic Café’s music selections. After all, a good song is a good song… any individual set of music could contain a bit of country, rock, blues, folk, pop… and more!
In addition to classic songwriters like Dylan, Mitchell, Young, Cash, Browne, Prine etc., Acoustic Café wants to bring as many newer talents to the table as possible.
