White Crow Conservatory ~ The White Crow Conservatory showcases local, regional and national talent year round in a smoke free, alcohol free, pure listening environment! This warm inviting showcase is hosted by two of Saginaw's finest musician's, husband and wife duo Zig Zeitler and Susan O'Rourke. They Focus on all forms of acoustic music strongly centered around the traditions of this country including Folk, Celtic, Blues, Cajun, Gospel and Contemporary Singer Songwriters! Stage 1210 ~ Stage 1210 is the newest acoustic music venue in the Lansing area, located at 1210 Turner Street in funky Old Town. Stage 1210 features a great listening room surrounded by paintings, prints, sculpture, jewelery and textiles. A monthly concert series is planned featuring national, regional, and local acts. The Creole Gallery ~ The Creole Gallery has become known as an inviting place where different communities gather for art, concerts, theater and poetry. Located in Lansing, Michigan's historic Old Town, Creole Gallery began as a full-service art, performance and rental space in 1999. It takes its name from the Creole Cigar Co., the first business in this late-19th-Century building at 1218 Turner Street. Ruth Bloomquist ~Singer/songwriter Ruth Bloomquist, 2003 winner of Merlefest’s prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Contest in the Gospel category, has now released her third CD. Josh Rose ~ Josh Rose wishes he knew exactly where his music comes from. Growing up in the sparsely populated U.P., it would be hard for him to draw any specific conclusion. When you spend your formative years with little access to any musical events, with modest surroundings, and with the only radio station in town hawking hair bands to the end of time, it might have been tough to grow as a writer and musician. But since he decided about a year ago to put his mind to all this singer songwriter stuff and move to Grand Rapids, Josh has realized that his songs speak to the person who feels that there still are things left to say in music, that a new song is an awesome use of space, and that the singer songwriter did not die with Jim Croce.

Someone else will tell you, that after meeting some folks at an old-time session and having a, "rip-roaring good time" late-night jam...the finger-picking kid from Detroit with the huge voice never left. They didn't bother to ask him if he was serious when asked, "If I move out here, do you want to start a band?" Regardless of what really happened, Amherst, Ma-based The Amity Front has developed into one of the best old time-blues and americana band the Pioneer Valley has ever heard.
