Juggernaut Jug Band   “...Hit of the evening, this mixture of blues, jazz, original and whatever else gets thrown in, is jug band music straight from Louisville, KY. With a stage full of instruments to choose from, this versatile group takes a back stage to nobody in fun and good music!” Austin Chronicle  What do you get when you blend jazz, blues ragtime, swing and original music with washboards, washtubs, kazoos, jugs and various other sundry hardware? Nothing less than the strange concoction called the JUGGERNAUT JUG BAND. http://www.juggernautjugband.com/

Fonn Mor ~ In the increasingly homogeneous world of Celtic music, Fonn Mor's approach is unique. Fiddle, flute, modal guitars and unconventional percussion strategies are used to propel original songs and dance tunes that reflect the influence of Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Ireland and other aspects of the Celtic Diaspora.Their entertaining and entrancing live shows have helped them build a strong and ever increasing following. Never forcing a preconceived notion of "fusion," the band has let their music coalesce over the past four years, and it's already turning heads worldwide. Their debut album earned them an International Acoustic Music Award - before it was even released. http://www.millish.com/

Josh Rose ~ Josh Rose wishes he knew exactly where his music comes from. Growing up in the sparsely populated U.P., it would be hard for him to draw any specific conclusion. When you spend your formative years with little access to any musical events, with modest surroundings, and with the only radio station in town hawking hair bands to the end of time, it might have been tough to grow as a writer and musician. But since he decided about a year ago to put his mind to all this singer songwriter stuff and move to Grand Rapids, Josh has realized that his songs speak to the person who feels that there still are things left to say in music, that a new song is an awesome use of space, and that the singer songwriter did not die with Jim Croce.

Steve Deasy ~ This Pittsburgh-born Detroit singer/songwriter is a classically trained,

intelligent and serious acoustic folk musician with a wicked sense of humor and an almost Zen-like stage presence. Although Deasy’s lyric-writing has been compared to both Harry Chapin and Michael Peter Smith, the influence of some of his early band days playing jazz, rock, funk,
fusion and classical piano adds an intoxicating blend of complexity to his stripped down folk sound.                         http://www.stevedeasy.com

The Amity Front ~ Depending on who you ask...It's a story that has a few different versions of the truth. If you listen to it the way 23-year old, lead singer Erik Alan tells it, he was, "on a road trip from Detroit with my buddy and his dog...lookin' for some people to play with one night." Someone else will tell you, that after meeting some folks at an old-time session and having a, "rip-roaring good time" late-night jam...the finger-picking kid from Detroit with the huge voice never left. They didn't bother to ask him if he was serious when asked, "If I move out here, do you want to start a band?" Regardless of what really happened, Amherst, Ma-based The Amity Front has developed into one of the best old time-blues and americana band the Pioneer Valley has ever heard. The sound is a ride into America's past complete with Alan's finger-picking, lead guitar Levin Schwartz's dynamic solos and upright bassist Max Adam's low end walking bass lines.                    http://www.theamityfront.com/

Jay Webber ~ Jay's percussive acoustic guitar techniques lend urgency and power to his music. Add thought-provoking lyrics to the passion and energy he exudes on stage and the result literally moves you! An evening with Jay includes a blend of Jazz, Blues and Folk with a touch of Latin fire and boogie - - the kind of music that has you dancin' in your seat and hummin' the tunes on the way home. . . http://www.jaywebber.com

Matt & Shannon Heaton ~ Matt and Shannon Heaton pair original songs with traditional Irish flute and guitar numbers. An unusual blend of material? Sure. But a natural one for this Boston-based husband-and-wife pair, who has retained trad music chops while becoming involved in the rich Boston acoustic music scene. Call it Irish Americana, or modern Celtic music—Matt and Shannon's shows feature stunning musicianship, an easy rapport with audiences, and a selection of music you won't hear anywhere else.

Clinton Hammond ~ This Windsor area performer has been described as “A wonderful performer with a great voice, and a journeyman like attitude towards his work. His repertoire was varied, his interpretation was intense, and his arrangements were clearly his own and just different enough to be enjoyable while remaining recognizable”
http://home.cogeco.ca/~sword4hire/Index.htm

Dan Hazlett ~ With subject matters ranging from carpet stains and the demolition of Barbies to life with his schizophrenic brother, solo acoustic performer Dan Hazlett’s songs roam from the outlandish to the sublime. His rich, warm voice and skillful acoustic guitar work make his performances touching, humorous and uplifting. Blending a folky, jazzy style with carefully crafted and thoughtful songwriting, Dan has often been compared to artists like James Taylor and Bruce Cockburn.

The Gentlemen Callers ~ The Gentleman Callers are a rocking four piece outfit from Lansing, MI. They are deeply rooted in the sounds of traditional country, with a rock and roll edge and attitude. All that matched with pro gear and an unquenchable thirst for Beer, make them the rockinest honky-tonk band in mid-Michigan.
Harmonica Buzz is J.T. Sunden, a roots and blues songwriter from Lansing, Michigan. “Harmonica Buzz loves to explore the multiple boundary-crossings among folk, blues, bluegrass and country music. His performance ... promises to drop listeners right into this thicket.”
Lawrence Constenino - Lansing City Pulse

Robert Marr ~ Here is a singer/songwriter who writes stories about you and me and the guy down the street. He writes about disturbing social issues as well as exploration of self worth. Throw in some comical lyrics about real-life situations, et, voila!

The String Doctors ~ The String Doctors is  a new group with a few very familiar faces.  The guys you know,  Joel Mabus and Ray Kamalay,  have held forth on the Michigan scene for many years, with distinguished performances from Monroe to Marquette, from Coldwater to Crystal Falls.  They’ve ranged to Canada and Europe to play some of the most prestigious festivals, including Edinburgh, Vancouver and the Philadelphia Folk Festival. Of that last appearance the Village Voice said, “...And I thought I’d gone to Heaven when Ray Kamalay and Joel Mabus, a guitar duo from Lansing, Michigan, rode high, hard and handsome duelling their swing guitars.”
